Spring makeup shake up

Spring Makeup

With the lighter and brighter weather we’ve been having here in the UK, not to mention the trees full of blossom, I’ve been busy finding ways to embrace the spring season. This weekend I even (finally) packed away my winter coats and have added my lighter jackets back into my wardrobe. I have also been switching it up on the beauty front with a few new items and an old favourite coming out of hibination.

L'oreal Nail Polish

L’oreal Colour Riche in Rose Ballet – Since reading Rebecca’s post on dirty/dusty pink nail polish I have been on a search for one that’s just right. This colour from L’oreal is rose-y enough to be perfect for spring, but also has that slightly dull, deeper tone that keeps it modern and not too girly.

L'oreal False Lash Sculpt

L’oreal False Lash Sculpt – This is my new mascara of choice. After hearing all about it’s ‘tight-lining’ properties (which I’m not entirely sold on…) I made sure to give it a go. One thing this mascara is good for is VOLUME, and lots of it. It can look slightly clumpy, which I know some people enjoy, but I like to run a mascara with a slightly thinner wand through after, just to separate my lashes a little bit. It’s definitely sticking around for spring but I’m a bit of a mascara floozie at the moment so no doubt I’ll have another new favourite soon. I’ve got my eye’s on a NYX one next…

L'oreal True Match Foundation

L’oreal True Match – If you caught my most recent beauty post you’ll know that I’ve been having a foundation nightmare of late. It seems that I went through a pretty bad patch of choosing the complete wrong formulas and colour matches and none of them were working. I’d heard the L’oreal True Match is a fairly good dupe for the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk and so far I’ve been loving it!

L'oreal Infallible Matt Max

L’oreal Infallible Matte Max – Now this is unlike any lip product I’ve owned before, and at first I was massively put off by the weird sponge applicator. I thought it was too big and the product looked to chalky to do my lips any favours, but after hearing Alix speak pretty highly of it I took the plunge. And it’s not nearly as difficult to apply as I though it would be. The texture is strange but not chalky and the colour is great for a daytime matte that has some decent staying power.

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush

Max Factor Creme Puff – Ah the old favourite of the post! I love this little pink blush – it’s just right for spring when your cheeks need that little pop of colour that’s not too bold. In summer I’ll be going for something a little more bronze-y but for now this is the only blush I have eyes for.

Nyx Adorable Eyeshadow Palette

NYX Adorable Eyeshadow Palette – This little palette hung around in my Asos saved items for so long, while it went out of stock and then came back in, until I finally made it happen. The thing with eye palettes that takes me so long in deciding, is whether I’ll really use all the colours. If not then I’m not sure it’s going to be worth my money. This one is worth it – a mix of matt and shimmer and all in fairly natural colours. The only one I’m not sold on it the pink but once I work out how to use it effectively then this palette will be coming everywhere with me.

So that’s my little shake up of spring makeup – what have you added to your makeup bags for the spring time? Let me know! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram and Bloglovin to keep up with all the new Girlglobalising content!
