I’ve been going through a phase recently where I’m not that fussed about anything in my wardrobe or makeup collection. I wake up in the morning and stare at my clothes blankly, before choosing a pair of jeans and some kind of t-shirt. Really pushing the boat out. And the same goes for my make up – I’ve been reaching for the same five or six products every day and it’s a very low key look. The beauty of this kind of pared back super simple makeup is that it takes no time at all and is completely fuss free! Let me walk you through it.
I’m still loving the L’oreal True Match Foundation as it’s such a great formula and colour match for me. I dab it on with my beauty blender, or if I can’t be bothered to even do that I just swipe at my face with a brush. I’ve been using this Essence concealer for a while now, having bought it at a time while I was desperately waiting for payday and needed a cheap replacement. It’s probably not the best coverage but it gives a bit of brightness to the eye bags. And finally I swipe on a bit of the Collection Speedy blush, which sits really nicely on the foundation and gives a little flush of colour that’s not too much. The whole process takes a few minutes in total.
Brows and lashes are equally as quick. I tend to just use the L’oreal Brow Artist Plumper on my brows. I’ve included the Tanya Burr brow kit here mainly because I use it for the mirror and only occasionally add a bit of powder through them too. And after giving my lashes a good curl, I run some of the L’oreal False Lash Sculpt to give a LOT amount of volume with just one coat.
I’ve added the Clinique Nude Pop lipstick in here as a bit of an after thought really, as I’ve pretty much been going for lip balm and nothing else. But if I were to put a lipstick on, it would be this – dare I say it – ‘your lips but better’ colour.
I now realise this is a very L’oreal heavy post! I promise that’s just a coincidence and it’s not in any way sponsored content. It’s been quite nice to scale back my morning routine to something so quick and fuss free. I know I posted about my new spring makeup additions recently and don’t get me wrong I have been making full use of them. But I have also felt a little uninspired recently and in those moments I think it’s good to go back to basics.
